A Season of Thanks: What’s Been Happening on the Farm

What's Been Happening - Autumn Updates

It’s been a little while since our last blog post, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to here at the Farm. As the lavender fields rest for the season, we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes creating, learning, growing, and preparing for a magical holiday season.

Honing Our Craft & Creating New Scents

Autumn is one of our favorite times to dive deep into product development. We’ve been busy honing our craft and experimenting with new seasonal soap scents that we absolutely cannot wait for you to experience. Earth Meets Sky, Black Current, Love Spell, Apple Juniper.

A New Adventure: Our North Georgia Still

One of the highlights of our fall was the purchase of a new copper still from the North Georgia Still Company. We had an incredible experience visiting the very place where our still was designed and manufactured. The craftsmanship, care, and pride that goes into their work left a lasting impression on us.

This new still allows us to increase our production of lavender essential oil and hydrosol, and we’re thrilled to take you along with us as we deepen our distilling journey. Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes moments as we get it fully up and running!

Preparing for the Holiday Season

The holiday season is in full swing here at the farm! We’re busily making products for upcoming vendor events and stocking local shops that proudly feature our handmade creations. We encourage you to visit these wonderful small businesses not just because they are truly unique, but because you won’t find gifts like these on Amazon.

Also, shopping local means giving something meaningful, handcrafted, and one-of-a-kind… and it also supports the artists, farmers, and small businesses who pour their hearts into what they make. It’s a gift that gives twice.

If you’re searching for special holiday items, please consider stopping by our partner shops:

And of course, you can visit our website (www.HickoryRunLavender.com) to see where we’ll be this season. We’d love for you to stop by our booth, say hello, and share in the joy of the holidays with us.

A Personal Note from Cheryl

Many of you have followed my journey since the early days of the farm, and I wanted to share something close to my heart. I finally finished writing my fictional novel that I began in 2020.

After losing my brother in 2019 and experiencing the isolation of the COVID lockdowns, writing became a lifeline. The Journey is a captivating fictional story about one man’s passage through the afterlife; a tale woven with themes of forgiveness, purpose, interconnectedness, and the power of love across time.

As the farm grew, so did this book. Both became spaces of healing, creativity, and hope. I look forward to sharing more as I near completion.  Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in reading this captivating story and discover how love never fails even after death. Keep an eye out for a video link that will be posted soon, so you can learn more about this unique story and how it is written.
